Does e-Friends sell hardware too? |
Some of our distributors also offer hardware. Our Software Consultants would gladly work with you, your Network Solutions provider or Hardware provider to help design a practical yet adequate network for e-Friends. |

Will I have to get rid of my existing hardware? |
Maybe not. Many times, existing computers function well as workstations. The most important component of your network for operating e-Friends is your Server. We will gladly provide guidelines and server recommendations that will ensure optimum performance of e-Friends. |

Isn't typing everything going to be time consuming? |

Customizable drop-down lists including subjective and objective evaluations and assessments (phrased as you would normally write them), plus combo codes for routine procedures and services help streamline data entry. Begin typing a client name, pet name or item to utilize e-Friend's quick search feature in any search field or simply point and click from your customized drop-down menus. |

Aren't computerized Medical Records at risk of being "lost"? |
Backup, backup, backup! With proper hardware and data backup procedures in place, there is no reason for lost records. We cannot over-emphasize the importance of battery backups (not surge protectors) that will provide sufficient time to properly shut down your computers in case of power failures. e-Friend's programmable data backup can be scheduled for automatic, daily back ups. Frequent backups on removable media such as compact disc protects your Medical Records, Drug Logs, Client/Pet and Financial records from unforeseen disasters such as fire. |

Can I expect much "down-time" for installation, data conversion and training with e-Friends? |
Hospital down-time, more acurately computer down-time, is typically no more than 4 hours and is often under an hour with on-site installation and training. Remote installation generally takes longer, but typically willinvolve no more than one day of computer downtime. On-site installation involves one day for installation/conversion/management training, the next day is staff training (your hospital can be up and using e-Friends on this day), the last day is supervising and fine tuning. |
